CfP: WITTA 2018, The Second WITTA Congress


International Symposium on Translation and Interpreting Education (1st Circular)

University of Westminster, London, Britain 

October 13 – 14, 2018 


        We are happy to announce that the Second WITTA (World Interpreter and Translator Training Association) Congress cum International Symposium on Translation and Interpreting Education, to be hosted by University of Westminster, will take place in London, Britain, on October 13-14, 2018. 


        Open to all, the Symposium immediately follows the Second Congress of WITTA (World Interpreter and Translation Training Association, and is intended to create a common space for reflection on issues related to translation and interpreting education. The language of the Symposium is English. 



        We invite papers related but not limited to the following translation and interpreting (T&I) education areas: 

        ➢ Translation teacher education and development 

        ➢ Curriculum and material development 

        ➢ Methods, approaches and innovations in translation teaching 

        ➢ Quality assessment of translation education 

        ➢ Translation education and language policies

        ➢ Technologies in T&I Education

        ➢ Corpus and T&I Education


        Proposals for presentations at the Symposium are now being invited. Submissions are invited for 20-minute presentations. Those interested in making a presentation should complete and return the Reply Slip attached below, together with a 300-word abstract and a short bio-sketch of the presenter(s), including the author’s name, affiliation and research areas.

The Congress and Symposium to convene 



        Participants are requested to complete their registration by paying the fees on or before October 12, 2018. 

        Registration fees for regular participants: $ 200 US dollars

        Registration fees for student participants: $ 100 US dollars

        The fees will not cover transportation and accommodation. 

        Payments can be made via bank transfer or in cash.



        Abstracts should be submitted to by May 20, 2018. 

        The Abstract File name should read: surname_name_abstract.doc (example: Richardson_Henry_abstract.doc).
